Prothonotary Warbler
The Prothonotary Warbler, Protonotaria citrea, is a very striking bird due to it's brilliant yellow body and head. Even though we have these down at the creek, this one was photographed at Merchants Millpond State Park in Gates County, NC. They generally inhabit the lower branches of trees and brushy areas near creeks and swamps.
